Nothing gets cut
A live recording is the only format where the audience can hear the pause before somebody answers. That pause is usually the best part of the episode, and in a studio it is exactly the part that gets edited out.
We do six or seven of these a year, in rooms that hold under a hundred. Small enough that the back row is still in the conversation, which is the whole point.
